World Travel Jobs:
Overseas Teaching Adventures

Exciting world travel jobs with overseas teaching!

Discover what teaching jobs overseas are really like, then share your own story.

Have you ever wondered how some people are able to find teaching positions overseas? The reality is...they aren't hard to find.

Education is one of those jobs that travel the world. There are thousands of international schools that are ready to hire quality educators.

Great stories are made by adventurous people.

This fellow below was a Bedouin in the Negev Desert. My husband and I stayed the night with his family on our way to Elat.

Okay, we actually didn't stay in the tent all night because the howling of the wild dogs scared the life out of us so we slept in the car.

I also wasn't keen on the giant scorpion that ran over my blanket, but it was still fun!

But hey, that's part of the adventure of teaching overseas!

One of my favorite stories about world travel jobs is when I was in Egypt for an International Teacher's Conference. Little did I know that our cruise down the Nile was going to result in a loss of $100 to local Egyptians at the Black Jack table, I would belly-dance on stage, and later have to ride a camel through the Valley of the Kings with a severe hangover!

Another overseas teaching job story is when some other teachers and myself were in the Kuwaiti desert and took a slight detour. We didn't realize we had actually entered the DMZ and were only a few miles from crossing the border into Iraq. We found that out after we were taken into custody by the Kuwaiti border police, who taught us how to shoot AK-47s after many cups of Arabic tea.

Of course the schools and students were great, but anyone who looks for teaching jobs overseas is also looking for adventure! That's part of what makes world travel jobs so enticing.

If you live overseas or have been in international teaching positions, then I bet you have some great stories.

Tell about the incredible places you have been and what it was really like! Whether you have been teaching overseas, live somewhere exotic, or just have a great photo you would like to share, we want to know!

This is one of the easiest ways to publish your story on the web (with your name as the author, of course!) and share with your friends and family.

Have You Been Somewhere Amazing?

Do you have a great story and photo about international teaching or living? World travelers want to know where you are and where you have been!
