ADHD Interventions

ADHD interventions for classroom behavior management.

At the first sign of ADHD, implement behavior interventions to help students regulate themselves.

Students with attention disorders can cause many problems in the classroom. Students are expected to attend more to tasks, organize information, manage their time and turn in homework. This is extremely difficult for a child with the disorder.

Another sign of ADHD can be in social skills, which is the life-blood of the school experience for most young people.

While there is a lot of info on ADHD and ADHD symptoms, sometimes educators need specific ADHD interventions that can be easily implemented. The table below lists specific areas of difficulty for teens with ADHD and possible interventions for each one.

How to Reach and Teach Children with ADHD is the best book I have ever read on how to effectively educate these special students.

It is full of case studies, practical behavioral intervention plans, and classroom differentiation ideas for instruction. It also makes a useful tool to loan to parents who are struggling with understanding why their child behaves this way.

I know, because not only do I teach them, I am the parent of an AD/HD child.
